Children Waiting for an Advocate
Craig, 15
Craig has been raised by a single mom who recently beat him with an electrical cord after he came home late.  Craig feels responsible for the charges that were subsequently filed against his mother.  Craig’s social workers states that Craig is in shock about being in the system.  The social worker feels that although Craig is quiet, there is much going on with him.  Craig would truly benefit from a warm and sensitive adult in his life.
John (14), Frank (8), Mary (7), Roger (6),
This family has had 15 referrals prior to this referral that caused the children to be placed in foster care.  The parents have failed to meet the medical needs of the children and have failed to keep a clean, healthy environment.  The family home has become unsanitary, hazardous and has created health and safety risks for the children.  John is placed in a separate foster home from his three younger siblings.  He is refusing to see his parents but did visit with his siblings once.  The younger children are doing well in their foster home but could use the extra attention of an Advocate.
